Between juggling work, parenting, and personal time, it can often feel like life is a never-ending balancing act. I've been there myself, feeling overwhelmed by the constant demands of daily life. But what I’ve learned through my own healing journey is that even small, intentional steps can lead to profound changes.

Embracing the Everyday Chaos

I remember a time when I was running my interior design firm while being a single mom to my son. Each day felt like an endless to-do list: coordinating with contractors, managing budgets, making dinner, and somehow finding the energy to be present for my child. The pressure to be perfect was immense, and I often found myself running on empty.

One day, after yet another exhausting day, I realized that I couldn’t keep going this way. I needed a shift, not just in how I managed my time but in how I approached life itself. This is when I began to explore self-hypnosis and mindfulness practices. These tools became my lifeline, helping me not just survive, but thrive amid the chaos.

The Power of Small Changes

If you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck, know that it doesn't have to be a massive overhaul to make a difference. Start with small, manageable changes that can gradually transform your life. Here are a few steps that helped me, and might just help you too:

Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and set a positive intention for the day. You could use a simple affirmation like, "Today, I choose peace and joy in every situation." This sets the tone for a calmer, more focused day.

  2. Practice Self-Compassion: It's easy to be hard on yourself, especially when you're juggling multiple roles. Remind yourself that you are doing the best you can with what you have. Forgive yourself for the little things and celebrate even the smallest victories.

  3. Create Micro-Moments of Joy: Find small moments throughout your day to do something that brings you happiness. It could be a walk around the block, listening to your favorite song, or a few minutes of meditation. These moments can act as mini-recharges that keep you centered.

  4. Connect with a Supportive Community: Building a network of women who understand your journey can make all the difference. When I created The Village, my goal was to form a space where single women and moms could share their experiences, find support, and uplift each other. It’s incredible how much lighter life feels when you know you’re not alone.

My Healing Journey: From Overwhelm to Empowerment

When I started this journey, I never imagined how transformative it could be. I knew I had to start somewhere, so I started with my health. I began using self-hypnosis to silence the negative self-talk and distorted body image that had plagued me for years. I visualized myself running along the beach, feeling strong and confident—something I could hardly imagine at the time. And, although I have never run on the beach, that visualization practice became my catalyst for change. Within months I was walking in the morning, then running, then weight lifting. Now regular exercise is a regular part of my reality as I align my mind with my goals.

What began as a personal tool for managing stress evolved into a method I now teach others to help them release their subconscious blocks and embrace their true potential. This journey has shown me that healing isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. Every small step counts, and every day offers a new opportunity to move closer to the life you truly desire.
